Deleted messages that will not go away
When I launch Windows Mail it is likely that some or all of the messages that
were deleted from the Inbox during my last session will show up again.
Interestingly, the messages in question will have no content within their
bodie. If I then delete the message(s) again they will stay deleted. Any
ideas how I might convince Windows Mail to delete messages properly the first
time?

Re: Deleted messages that will not go away
That type problem can be caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly aggressive antivirus programs.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

That could be caused by a bug in WM, Download and install the Hotfix from
MS;

Get the Hotfix here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090/en-us

save to hard drive and install.

It works for all folders so ignore the KB title.

Re: Deleted messages that will not go away
Gary ... I use Panda 2008 and while IM scanning can be disabled, I do not
find functionality to turn off email scanning. Thanks for the link to
Windows Live Mail which I will consider if unable to ultimately repair
Windows Mail. Any other ideas?
Jon :-)

Re: Deleted messages that will not go away
Mac ... I attempted to install the fix at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090/en-us and was presened a dialogue
advising that this update does not apply to my operating system. Any other
ideas?
Jon :-)

Re: Deleted messages that will not go away
I don't have a copy of Panda antivirus, so I can't advise you where
its various settings are. Sorry, I can't think of any other fixes besides
switching to WLM.
