moving into sent items folder
I am interested in creating a rule to send mail from a particular account
into my 'Sent Items' folder. However, it appears that Windows Mail does not
have this option. Am I missing something?

The reason I ask is Gmail includes sent mail (mail sent via web browser) in
the pop download, which is a very nice feature. But it pours into the inbox,
and I can't figure out how to get it to move automatically into the Sent
Items folder.

Re: moving into sent items folder
What you found is true, WinMail (and OE) won't let you move anything to
the Sent Items folder. The message has to be actually sent through WinMail.

Re: moving into sent items folder
Just set a rule for when mail is from a given account move it to a folder
and designate the sent items.

Re: moving into sent items folder
Have you actually tried that, Steve?
It won't let me select Sent Items.

Re: moving into sent items folder
You are correct -- it lets me select it, but then disables the OK button. I
guess one could set it to a subfolder of the sent items.
