Importing Outlook messages aborts/restarts Windows Mail

I want to import the Microsoft Outlook messages to Windows Mail.
File -> Import -> Messages
Selected Microsoft Outlook, click Next then Windows Mail aborts/restarts.

Any clues?

I was able to import the Outlook address book into Contacts with no problem.

Try it again is all I can say. Did you follow the instructions here:

I've tried several times. I don't even get past the selection of Microsoft
Outlook when I try to import the messages. Your link deals with Outlook
Express. I'm using Outlook 2000...messages are kept in an *.pst file.

I recently purchased a new computor with vista. I saved my messages from
Outlook 2000 onto a memory stick as pst file. I tried to import my messages
to outlook 2000 from my memory stick ....it did not work. I saved them on my
desktop and then tried to copy onto my Outlook 2000....I get an error msg "
An error has occurred while attempting to open the windows Address Book.
Unable to find WAB DLL".
Help!

Re my last.
I saved my Outlook 2000 messages from a computor that I no longer use. Once
I got the new computor, I tried to import from the memory stick.
Help!

Go back to the old computer and and export from Outlook to OE. Then copy
the OE files over to the Vista machine and import them. See

Thaks Steve. Old computor is in the garbage. All my files were saved on my
memory stick. The PST files are the only one I'm having problems with. My
address book transfered oK.
Any other suggestion?
