Sent email notification

When I send an email I don't receive a notifying screen that says message
sent. Is this the standard process for Windows Mail?

There is no notification for a successfully sent emails.
If a copy arrives in Sent Items, you can pretty much assume it was sent.
I would rather just be notified when there is a problem.
