Need help establishing account
I just purchased a new computer.
I was using windows XP and DSL. I had a Yahoo DSL with a E-mail of
xxxxxx.sbcglobal.net. I had all mail to this address automatically forwarded
to my Outlook 03 account with an address of xxxxx.att.net. Without Outlook I
was unable to receive any mail except on my old computer.
I tried Windows Mail as it said it was succesor to Outlook. My setup was as
follows:

POP3 ipostoffic.worldnet.att.net
SMTP i mailhost.worldnet.att.net

I received an error message of
timing out with A Protocol POP 3 Port 110
My Port setting on the old machine was POP3 of 995 which requires encrypted
connection SSL.
My Port for Outgoing Server SMTP 465

I don't know how to how to chance the Port setting in Windows Mail.

I can't even get mail on my new machine, as its automatically forwarded to
the DSL address in Yahoo and noone has that address anyway.

If i weren't bald, I would be tearing my hair out
Help Please!!

Charlie

====================================

FWIW...it might be a good idea to remove your
real e-mail address from your newsgroup settings.

Maybe the following articles will offer some ideas:

Re: Need help establishing account
The port settings in Windows Mail can be changed here:
Tools , Accounts, select the account, Properties, Advanced.

Incidentally, Yahoo doesn't offer DSL or any other Internet
connectivity. You probably get it through AT&T (formerly SBC).

If you get an error message, right-click on it, copy, then paste it
into a reply here. Paraphrased error messages are not very reliable.
