vista home basic - windows mail

"windows mail" activates itself repeatedly, for example if I login to "gmail" I can't write an e-mail because "windows mail" keeps opening and blocking the screen, and as fast as I close "windows mail" it reopens and blocks my work and this is driving me crazy. Unfortunately "windows mail" also opens itself even when I'm away from my computer... Please, please I'm desperate for help

If Gmail's webmail is your desired mail service, you need to
set it as the default:
