Re: Incoming automatic email will not stop and blocking all others
Message #5 on the server is probably corrupt.
Go to the webmail site, log on, and delete it.

Re: Incoming automatic email will not stop and blocking all others
That's because you have a 'stuck' email on the server, which is not
allowing the total download to complete. When a download doesn't
complete, the server doesn't delete any downloaded messages.
On subsequent downloads, the same message(s) will download.

Re: Incoming automatic email will not stop and blocking all others
In your browser go to http://webmail.twcny.rr.com and delete the 5 oldest
messages. Then try Windows mail again.

Re: Incoming automatic email will not stop and blocking all others
I have had the same problem for months. Isn't there a more permanent fix
other than having to delete the messages?

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
