Re: can't send email
That type of error is often caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
For more information on why email scanning is bad, see

I'm having this same problem. I have Norton Antivirus on my computer. How
do I fix this?

Re: can't send email
Norton antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Symptoms often don't start until months later.
The only way you can prove or disprove that Norton is the culprit is to
uninstall it, followed by using their debris removal tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/Support...05033108162039
Another option is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail, which is more
resistant to the adverse effects of aggressive antivirus products:
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
In any case you must disable any antivirus email scanning, for the reason
explained here:

Re: can't send email
The "Port: 0" error is usually a sure indication that your antivirus is
interfering with the proper operation of Windows Mail.
As a test, uninstall the antivirus, reboot, then try Windows Mail again.
