Re: Multiple identities for Windows Vista
Well, you have two free options:
1. Use separate Windows user accounts.
2. Have multiple email accounts under one user, but redirect
incoming mail into separate folders using message (filter) rules.

Re: Multiple identities for Windows Vista
Microsoft decided the remove the feature and go back to the way it was
handled in OE4. That is you use a separate Windows logon if you want to
keep the mail separate. You can still do multiple accounts within
Windows Mail just as you can do multiple accounts with an Identity in
OE5 and 6.

Why Microsoft decided to remove Identities, I don't know.

The WMIDs was written by an independent person (not a Microsoft
employee or contractor) spending his own time and effort. If you fell
that is a valuable feature, then he deserves compensation for his
effort.

Re: Multiple identities for Windows Vista
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW... I contacted, paid for and downloaded the WMID
and well... now my Windows Mail doesn't work at all. Nice..... I can't get
any email now and it would appear, no answers.

I guess I'll just reload my XP and move back to the normal way of doing
things.

Re: Multiple identities for Windows Vista
Since Microsoft left it out, many would be happy to pay for the ability to do so. The program is provided by a non-Msft employee who has spent a multitude of hours on his own time over the last decade+ developing free and fee-based programs for everyday users like you and me. All with a long and documented history of success.

If you have problems after installation then posting the contents of Windows Mail error messages etc may lead to others helping you troubleshoot a problem.

Without anything concrete, beyond 'Windows Mail doesn't work at all' makes it even more difficult to suggest a possible solution.

I don't know what "doesn't work at all" means. Tell us and we'll help.

You should also have Steve's email address and he's very good about
supporting his programs.

Until they come to their senses and fix this horrible lousy WM, I guess. It
was the only solution I found for my multiple identities to be funtional as
in OExpress.
