folder disappearance

i have folders in my inbox. one i've been compiling travel e-mails for a
future book. it has suddenly disappeared; the only action performed has been
"compacting the message store". does someone know a way i can look for it?
i have not found it anywhere and can't believe the message store action would
do it. of course this new laptop has VISTA which has resulted in many
problems. most recently since the upgrade to norton 360, the computer is
sluggish and will not shut down gracefully. help! thanx.

Norton 360 is probably responsible for both the sluggishness and the
missing folders. I suggest you uninstall it immediately, and follow that up
with their debris removal tool:

If that cures the problem, we can recommend a more compatible free antivirus.
