Block sender in Newsgroups
Hi
In IE 6, there was a feature which allowed you to block a poster in
Newsgroups, but I can't find it in IE7. Anybody know if/where it exists?
Thanks.

Re: Block sender in Newsgroups
If you open the message in its own window, and right-click
on the From address, one of the options will be "Add sender to
Blocked Senders list".

Thanks Gary, it just goes to show that there are still idiots working for
ms. Why didn't the morons at ms continue with the feature in OE 6 whereby it
was much easier to block someone, AND without having to open the window and
right click??? P.S. In my message below, it should have been Windows Mail
and not "IE7".

Re: Block sender in Newsgroups
I use Forte Inc's Agent for newsgroup viewing. Much more flexible and
full of features.

Re: Block sender in Newsgroups
I agree, that feature was better implemented in OE.

I agree, that feature was better implemented in OE.
Do you think anyone at ms will take any notice?
For a company with so many Billions of cash reserves, you think they would
treat their customers better and say spend an extra $ billion or 2 on the
"user experience". Of course, I think they are full of it, and not sincere.
Also, anyone other than a novice - and especially an ms employee - who
thought that Vista was a "wow" experience, needs to be institutionalised and
has NO credibility.

Re: Block sender in Newsgroups
Windows Mail is a dead end product, and Microsoft is not
accepting any feedback for it. Its replacement, Windows
Live Mail, has the same lame implementation for blocking
a newsgroup sender. You can submit feedback for WLM

Actually, I just tried it - twice - and it didn't work. Way to go ms morons.
It didn't delete the sender nor his posts, not even after I closed that
group and re-opened it. How long has Mail been out now? So where are those
ms employees who are supposed to be reading this NG? Are they too
gutless/indifferent/stupid to reply? Typical of a cheapskate company like
ms, no wonder Google wipes the floor with them. Not surprising that ms is a
pathetic third, as in 3rd rate.

Re: Block sender in Newsgroups
Unlike OE, it doesn't offer to clean out already downloaded posts.
It works when downloading new posts.
