Outlook Express won't run under Vista, so it won't create such a
folder.

If you mean Windows Mail instead, click on Tools, then Options,
then Advanced, then Maintenance, then Store Folder. Record
the directory name it shows, then click Cancel, Close, and Cancel
again. Note that the files in this directory are hidden and/or system
files, so you'll have to enable showing these two file types before
exploring that directory.

Hi Robert,

I always read your replies/hints/comments with interest. You do not seem to
talk down to or otherwise insult posters.

May I just add a suggestion, Unhide hidden files (Windows
Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View - Check Show Hidden ...

When you get to the Directory Folder, create a shortcut and move it to the
desktop or wherever. Restore the Do not show ...

Using this shortcut will take you directly to the email cache. Hope I'm not
an egg sucking tutor ;o)

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely
foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Thank you. I've saved a copy of your message to have something
to pass on to other users needing such advice.
