Import Outlook contacts - windows mail vista
Have read alot of the post here but no one seems to have the answer to my
question. Seen alot try this and that but has any one actually imported a
outlook 2003 contact into the new windows mai(outlookexpress)? I have two
computers one has outlook 2003 on it and the other has vista with windows
mail on it, with out knowing some technical stuff it doesn't look like it can
be done. Thanks Mike C.

RE: Import Outlook contacts - windows mail vista
Mike,
I had Microsoft Outlook 2000. After many frustrating hours I finally was
able to transfer my contacts. I "Exported" the contacts from Outlook 2000
into a "CSV" file, then was able to "Import" them into Vista's Microsoft Mail.
Good luck

Thanks I had tried that before but outlook only gave me the option of
exporting archieved folders, and my contacts were not in their so I had to
copy my contacts folder into the archieve folder in order for it to work. Not
to impressed with this windows mail I tried to send a e-mail and clicked on
my buddies name all it had down dor him was his phone number. Thanks again

RE: Import Outlook contacts - windows mail vista
Mike

I did this running Office 2000 on an XP Operating System.
OLD COMPUTER
1. Open Microsoft Office
2. Click "File"
3. Click "Import and Export"
4. Select "Export to a File", click "next"
5. Select "Comma Separated Values(Windows), click "next"
6. Select "Contacts", click "next"
7. Type in where you want to save the file. Click "next"
8. Click "Finish"

On VISTA Computer
1. Open "Microsoft Mail"
2. Click "File"
3. Click "Import", select "Windows Contacts"
4. Select "CSV Comma Separated Values", click "Import"
5. Type in where file is located.
6. Click "Next"
7. Click "Finish"

I hope this works for you.
