can't receive email

You can't go to websites on your computer? Sounds like something
other than Windows Mail is broken.

I never even get to the login page - I just get that little "connecting" icon
(the circle spinning aroung, if you know what I mean) but it never connects.

See if you can get to these, which may or may not give you help
other than giving you websites to test:

http://netservices.verizon.net/porta...help/selection

http://webmail.verizon.net/signin/

You may need to start Internet Explorer, click on Tools, then
Delete Browsing History, then one or more of the buttons
this gives you; or the equivalent in whatever other browser
you are using. Note that this is likely to make the computer
forget some saved passwords, though, so make sure you have
a record of all the passwords first. Restart Internet Explorer
or your other browser afterwards.

If this doesn't fix the problem, you may have to tell Verizon
which websites you are unable to reach, and ask them to check
if these websites are even working.

Assuming you also use Verizon:

This often means you need to log on to that mail server using webmail
instead
of Windows Mail, and delete the oldest message you haven't received yet
and perhaps the one after it.
