Help! New Sent Folder in Windows Mail
Hi all,
I need some help with Windows Mail using Vista.
By default, the Inbox shows the field "From" while the Sent folder shows
"To".
When I create subfolders for the Inbox (eg. Business, Important, Personal,
etc) again it shows "From" as you'd expect. No problems so far.
However, if I try and create a subfolder for my Sent folder, instead of
having the field "To" it now shows "From". I don't need "From" as it's
obvious it was sent from me! I've tried making changes by fiddling around
with the columns, but unfortunately any changes I make in this Sent Items
sub-folder will impact the Inbox which I don't want changed.
Any suggestions on how this can be rectified will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sledgehammer

We've only been asking for this since 1999. It still hasn't been done.

1. Your message has nothing to do with this thread.
2. One or more of your settings is wrong. Check with your mail provider's
instructions, probably on their website.

Re: Help! New Sent Folder in Windows Mail
That can't be rectified. It is hard-coded in Windows Mail.

Re: Help! New Sent Folder in Windows Mail
Please start a new thread for a new issue.
As a First Aid measure, try this: Delete that mail account in
Windows Mail, restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.
Chances are, your antivirus corrupted that mail account. Which
antivirus are you running?

Re: Help! New Sent Folder in Windows Mail
Thanks Gary and Frank for your replies.
That really sucks. There's no point in creating Sent Item sub-folders then.
Any other email program that can facilitate this?
Sledgehammer.

Re: Help! New Sent Folder in Windows Mail
Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, and Outlook Express
all have this same behavior. I'm not familiar enough with
other email programs to tell you whether they do something
different.
