Trend Micro PC-cillin is one of the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
(The other two are Norton and McAfee.)
As a minimum, you must configure your antivirus *not* to scan emails.
Sometimes that fixes the problem, but often it is not sufficient, in which case
the antivirus program must be uninstalled if you want a trouble-free Windows Mail.
Another option is upgrading to Windows Live Mail, which is less prone
to suffering problems from aggressive antivirus products.
