Why do my windows 'jump' around?!

I'm a new user of Vista and finding it difficult to get used to.

My main 'gripe' is if I am in Windows Mail, send an email - it sends, then
immediately jumps to the browser, leaving Mail. I have to go back into mail.
The system seems to have a mind of it's own.

What do I do to get to STAY in Mail, rather than the window of the browser
bounce back?

On the desktop, double click on Computer, then C:, then Program Files, then
scroll down the list to Windows Mail and double click on it. If the
resulting
list includes WinMail.exe, right click on it; otherwise find WinMail and
right
click on it. Click on Create Shortcut, then approve putting the shortcut on
the desktop. Close the window you created.

Now, you start Windows Mail by double clicking on the shortcut this created,
instead of starting it through Internet Explorer.

Thank you. I tried all that, but no go. I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser.
Do you have any other suggestions? As soon as I send an email, the computer
bounces right back to Mozilla, leaving Windows Mail.

I tried what you suggested but it didn't work. I use Mozilla as my browser.
As soon as an email is sent, the window jumps right back to the web.
Any other suggestions? Many thanks.

Are you sure you tried it all? It gives a way to send email without
going to the web at all.

Which antivirus are you using? Some of them are not very compatible
with Windows Mail and will cause assorted odd problems.

I'm using NOD (from Eset) and have for years. No problem with XP - and it's
scanning all email quite well.

Emails should not be scanned by your antivirus. To see why:

Windows Mail is more prone to suffering interference from
aggressive antivirus programs. One solution is to upgrade to
the more robust Windows Live Mail:
