I think you mean that you used to have several email accounts which could be
accessed in Outlook Express (OE) but which you cannot access in Windows
Mail. (An identity means something different in OE; see
http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm.)
Assuming I'm correct and the accounts you can no longer access are
MSN/Hotmail accounts, you now have 2 options to access them using a Mail
Client (e.g., Windows Mail):
1. If you subscribe to Windows Live Hotmail Plus [1] ($19.95/year per
account), you can access the MSN/Hotmail accounts via POP3 [2] in Windows
Mail or MS Outlook; or
2. Install Windows Live Mail [3] and use it as your default Mail Client
(i.e., replacing Windows Mail; yes, the names are confusing) in which you
can access your MSN/Hotmail and POP3 accounts.

Computers are still being sold with WinXP preinstalled.
