Added wireless router and now can't send messages
All was working fine until I added the router. Have tried changing outgoing
mail authentication box - no luck. Error message is below:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was 'sillygoose.7@verizon.net'. Subject 'Fw: Fw:
Fw: Molly, the fantastic pony', Account: 'Verizon Mail', Server:
'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.1.1 unknown
or illegal alias: sillygoose.7@verizon.net', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

When you use a wireless connection, your computer can connect to your
neighbor's wireless server instead of yours, and the connection to the
server
then starts out through your neighbor's internet provider instead of yours.
If a connection to the server crosses over from one internet provider's
equipment to another uses port 25, such connections are often blocked
to cause problems for spammers.
See if this leads you to any information of whether Verizon will let you
connect to the outgoing mail server using some other port instead:

Re: Added wireless router and now can't send messages
According to the Verizon mail server, the address 'sillygoose.7@verizon.net'
doesn't exist. I got the same error when attempting a send to that recipient.

Re: Added wireless router and now can't send messages
Sorry, that was just one message that was returned and you are correct, it
was a wrong address, just happened to be the one I selected to copy.
email is functioning normally now without me doing anything. No clue.

Re: Added wireless router and now can't send messages
If it's the problem I suggested with going through your neighbor's wireless
server, your computer could have decided to go through yours instead
for a while, which would avoid the problem for the same while.

Re: Added wireless router and now can't send messages
OK, so that one error message was not representative of what the
main problem was. If the problem returns, you know where to find us.
