vista mail asks
When I first start Vista mail a popup asks me if I want to find my
connection on this phone number or should it dial another number. When I
click on newsgroups I get the same message and have to answer and when I
click back to my inbox I get the popup question again and I have to click it
repeatedly. It asks if it should dial another connection that is no longer
on the computer. How can I kill this damned message? I switched to Live
Mail but it does the same thing with that so I'm back with mail.

Re: vista mail asks
It would have been helpful if you disclosed what type of Internet
connection you have, dial-up or broadband?

Tools | Accounts
Do this for every account:
Select the account and click Properties.
On the Connection tab uncheck "Always connect to this account using:".

Thanks but.... When I follow your instructions under connections there
isn't a check box for"always connect to this acct.". It doesn't matter
because within 20 seconds the connections screen grays out and mail crashes.

Re: vista mail asks
Chances are, that mail account is corrupted. Delete the account,
restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.
