Re: can't send or receive e-mails
Why did you go with customized settings like port 995 and SSL?
As far as I can tell, your ISP does not support those settings.
Have you tried the standard settings, port 110 with no SSL?

Re: can't send or receive e-mails
The ISP most likely is the one mentioned in the error message, AAPT.
See http://home.aapt.com.au/Online_with_AAPT/

RE: can't send or receive e-mails
Gail
Does this happen any time of day or just during the day. Dose it work at
night? If so the company can not handle the traffic, get another ISP. If not,
I'm still working on it

RE: can't send or receive e-mails
Gail
Double check your setting (listed below)
How do I read my emails?

Login to AAPT email to read your email.

How do I set up my email account?

You can set this up when you sign up for an AAPT internet service. Or, once
you’re up and running you’ll need to sign in to AAPT.com.au/Helpyourself and
look out for the option to Manage my products. Once you’re there you’ll be
able to add new email accounts, change your password, set an out of office or
forwarding

How do I redirect emails to my other email account (e.g. Hotmail or gmail?)

You’ll need to sign in to AAPT.com.au/Helpyourself and look out for the
option to All about me. Once you're there click Find me here and [Change it].
If you tick Automatic forward emails from AAPT, the address you enter in the
email field will be used for emails from AAPT.

I don’t want to log on here to read my emails – can I use another email
client like Outlook?

Yes you can use other applications to read your email. You'll need the
following settings:

Item Setting
Incoming mail server (POP3) mail.aapt.net.au
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) mail.aapt.net.au
Username the email address of the mailbox you created
Password the password provided when you created the account

I want to move to another Internet provider. Can I still keep my AAPT email
address?

No – afraid not. Once you’ve gone you’ll need to set up a new email account
with your new provider. We know it’s inconvenient so maybe you should contact
us before you make up your mind and see if we’ve got more to offer you.
