unable to get incoming mail on new PC with Vista OS.
Have just installed a new PC(Medion 8820) and linked it to my 'old' PC (kept
it for the grandchildren to use!) with a newly purchased wireless router (an
Actiontec 54Mbps cable/DSL router).
Problem:-- I am receiving self-addressed e-mails in the 'old' PC but
nothing on the Medion (with Vista Home Premium OS).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: unable to get incoming mail on new PC with Vista OS.
So both PCs are downloading from the same ISP server mailbox?
Chances are, the first PC that downloads a message will also
delete that message from the server. To ensure that both PCs have
access to the same email, you need to keep email on the server
for a while: Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, Advanced,
in the Delivery section near the bottom place a checkmark in "Leave
copy of messages on server". Also checkmark one of the two
"Remove..." options.

Re: unable to get incoming mail on new PC with Vista OS.
Be sure to make the change I suggested on *both* PCs.
Hope that works out for you.
