Mail & To e-mail adresses (auto-complete??)

In Tools-Options-send tab I have checked "automatically complete e-mail
adresses " , but it does not consistently complete e-mails adresses once i
start typing. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't on adresses in my
contacts list.

That's a known design shortcoming with Windows Mail.
That, and many other things, have been fixed in the replacement
program, Windows Live Mail:

Windows Mail doesn't use the contacts list for completing email addresses.
Instead, it uses a separate list of the last 29 addresses you sent messages
to.

If you'd rather use the contacts list, start a new message as usual, except
don't type any part of the address. Instead, click on To:.

WM will only auto complete to the last 29 people you sent email to.
When it doesn't recognize a name from that list it will not look up the
address in contacts until after you hit the send button. If there is
only one possibility for that name, then the mail will go to the outbox.
If there is more than one possibility a pop up with choices will be
presented. At least that's how it works for me.
