Tell me your top issues--
Seriously!!

With the way that you use Windows Mail, the way it operates, and the way you
would wish it to operate, please.

Someone should start a master bug/deficiency list!

Not for me personally, but for many others, the limited spell check language
availability (4) is a serious limitation. As you know, OE was able to use
any Office language dictionary.

Nice start Gary, thanks.

Can you elaborate on the Contacts Groups issues that have been reported, I
have not got involved in those threads, since I do not use the feature.

I don't use that feature either. :-)
My specialty is more with mail server and account setup issues, but I'll try
to give you what I know about Contacts Groups.

One problem is that in WM the Group is really a fixed mailing list, in that
once you add it on the To line, you can't delete some members of that group.
Many users need more flexibility; when composing an email, they want to be able
to pick and choose some contacts from Group A and some others from Group B, etc.

Also, the current contact import/export tools don't seem to preserve the contact's
group assignment information. This is a big problem for those with many contacts
that are divided up into many groups.

The biggest problem I've found is that it doesn't offer a way to killfile
news posts that are crossposted to a newsgroup that seldom if ever
contains anything worth reading. See newsgroup sci.med.cardiology,
if you need an example.

Also, news rules don't seem to offer any way to delete messages
that are replies in a thread you started.

The main problem I've seen reported is that the contacts folder
sometimes gets changed to some other type of folder unexpectedly.

Why? MS has already stated that WinMail is a dead end product. What's the
point of a buglist? They didn't even fix many bugs in SP1, so its a waste
of time for anyone to do such.

We (OE MVPs) made lists for years, and they largely ignored them.

The news rules should allow you to search for a specific word or
phrase in the body of the post, to help identify one of a number
of spam messages that all refer to the same company or the
same website.

The news rules should also allow you to search for a specific
word or phrase in any part of the header that isn't already searched,
to help identify messages from spammers or trolls who repeatedly
post from Google Groups, who doesn't take useful action on
complaints about spam.

The message rules section should allow users to export and import
sets of rules.

The message rules section should allow searching for a rule that
affects messages from a specific sender.

The message rules section should allow automatic elimination of
duplicate rules.

Re: Tell me your top issues--
What I miss from Outlook Express is the way you could have all your contacts
listed down the left hand side under the folders. As far as I am concerned it
is much easier to see them all iisted there and to be able to 'pick' on the
ones you want from there. Also it is a bit inconvenient having just the last
29 contacts in the 'auto fill facility'. Why not the lot like Outlook Express?

Just a couple of thoughts for you.
