Windows Mail - Username & Password ?

Windows Mail has suddenly started asking me for a user name and password
to deliver messages from Outbox. It has never done this before in the
previous 9 months.

Checked the settings in Tools / Accounts / Server Tab

Entered the user name / password as per the Server Tab but the box
keeps on appeating again and I can't send email out using Windows mail.

I can receive emails.

Any solution ?

Re: Windows Mail - Username & Password ?
If you have antivirus software, disable it and see if that fixes the issue.
See point 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 There are a number of AV
programs that are incompatible with WinMail.

Otherwise, try updating to Vista SP1 (which is good to do anyway):
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...svistasp1.mspx

And you can also try removing the account, closing and reopening WinMail and
then adding the account back again.

Re: Windows Mail - Username & Password ?

I have tried all these and still doesn't provide a solution.

Quick question why do you think it is the NAV when I am using port 587
for outgoing email, the link refers to NAV looking at Port 25.

If you don't quote the messages you are responding to, many of
us reading your message as a newsgroup post under Windows
Mail have trouble going back to previous messages in the thread
to see what you were told before.

You have tried all of what???

If you want this problem fixed you will have to uninstall your
Norton Antivirus.
