Odd Sent Item Issue with Gmail

OK this is very strange and I hope someone can help.
I use GMail's imap setup in Windows Mail. It connects fine and I can send
and receive. So it works. All my settings are correct.

What happens is when I compose an email in Windows Mail, and send it using
the GMail account it sends fine. Then a minute or so later I get the just
sent "sent" email as a new email in my inbox.To rephrase, I send email, it
gets delivered, and then it shows up in my GMail inbox as well.
It does not show up on the web based GMail access.

I looked at google groups and have seen the issue there but no one has any
ideas or suggetions.
Anyone here have an idea?

This newsgroup is short on experts on IMAP accounts, so you're not
likely to get a useful answer quickly.
