All your problems fixed - Error message and cannot delete email fr
Hi There - Firstly I have to say, I am no techy so I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF
FOR TROUBLESHOOTING MY OWN PROBLEM - Microsoft wanted to charge me $80 for
this simple little problem - here goes:

If you've got an email stuck in your outbox that won't send and you can't
delete or move it (an "unknown error" message comes up when you try), this is
what you have to do - it worked for me like a charm:

First of all, you need to delete your email account (don't worry, all your
contacts and your inbox contents will remain). For those who don't know how
to delete your account, go to the Tools drop down menu and select "accounts".
Then highlight your email account (usually your default one if you have more
than one account, or the account that is having the problem), once this is
highlighted, slect "remove" to the right.

Close that window, then you can successfully delete the error email!
Remember, you will then need to go into your deleted item, and delete it from
there. Once this is done, go back to the Tools Menu and click Accounts
again. If you remember how to set it up from when you did with your internet
provider, you can go ahead and do it again now, or else, ring your internet
provider, and get them to walk you through it again. All your details remain
the same - nothing needs to change.

Once this is done, your windows mail will be back up and running like it
should be. Hope this helps everyone out there with the same problem... I
think we all have ALOT to learn about Vista...

Ashley, You're suggestion worked just as you described to remove msgs from
the Outbox, but after setting up a new account, I ran into the same old
problem in that trying to send mail continues to fail. I've submitted 2 posts
re my problem and hopefully will ultimately get to a resolution. You are
also correct re we all have a lot to learn about Vista, and so far I am not
impressed or happy with the problems i seem to be running into. configuring
an email client should be a piece of cake instead of a frustrating nightmare.

RE: All your problems fixed - Error message and cannot delete emai
Mick, that really sucks!! I'm sorry, I thought I was a genius hehe! It
worked for me - my email is working fine. It is definitely not an internet
problem with yours? The email is still getting jammed in your outbox? Vista
really sucks - I'm sure patches will come along etc etc - but that doesn't
help any of us here and now does it? What kind of people tested Vista before
they released it? I have a problem with a bunch of programs too. For
instance, Windows Calender, everytime I log onto my computer, a window pops
up and says "An Error has Occured with Windows Calender - It is not
repsonding" I have never even used my calender...

I hope someone can help you with your problem...

Gary, this is disappointing. I must have had a slight different problem, and
be one of the lucky ones here... Sorry I could not help you. I know how
frustrating it is.
