Opening Hyperlinks from Windows Mail
Thanks in advance to any who can help with this one.

Clicking on a hyperlink in windows mail does not open internet explorer. It
will work if explorer is already open but I am hoping to get back to where
clicking on the link will automatically open internet explorer.

Thanks again.

Re: cannot send email
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
antivirus programs. Recently, Trend Micro antivirus has also been
reported as causing problems. As a test, uninstall your antivirus
program, then reboot, and try Windows Mail again. If there is
improvement, download and install a more compatible antivirus like:
AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.

1. Are you connected to the Internet through Road Runner?

2. Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

Clicking on them in the new message window won't open them. Clicking
on them in messages open in most of the Local folders should. Where
are the messages with problems?

Re: Opening Hyperlinks from Windows Mail
Internet Explorer may not have all of its defaults.
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on Internet
Explorer. If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

Re: cannot send email
I am having the exact same problem and I use the Windows Live OneCare program
for my virus protection. Are there any answers to these problems. I am
getting frustrated with this. I am using MicroSoft Windows Mail with the
Vista OS.
