Thanks Robert - have just solved the problem. It appears to be a yahoo issue.
Many people have experienced this today. I went onto the yahoo questions
website and found a solution there.
I had to create an archive on my webserver to temporarily store my emails
and this cleared the blip, then when I put the archived emails back into the
server inbox they downloaded fine; very bizzare!
