E-mails being diverted

I have one e-mail address, but my e-mails go to two different destinations.
I'm with BT Internet and as part of their package, they include Yahoo
Messenger. Most of my e-mails go through to my main Windows Mail, but a small
number regularly get diverted to the Messenger e-mail box, for no apparent
reason. It took me months before I realised this was happening, after several
messages had seemingly not arrived. As I never use Messenger, it was only by
chance that I discovered what was happening.

How can I stop my e-mails going into Messenger and make sure that they all
go into Windows Mail?

If you don't use Messenger, why not uninstall it?
