windows mail
I have had windows vista since January 2008. I was having trouble with
windows mail. I could not send or receive any e-mails. I called my provider
verizon and he walked me through a couple of things. Well it was working
fine for a short while. Sometimes the e-mail works and I am able to receive
my messages but most of the time it does not work. This is the message I
receive : Acount: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server: 'incoming.verizon.net',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19 . I
have no problem sending e-mails it is just receiving them. I am at a loss.
Help

Some internet providers put their better people to writing instructions
instead
of answering the phone. See if this leads you to useful instructions:

Re: windows mail
Receiving should be the easy part.... :-(
Is that the entire error message? Right-click on the error message, select
Copy, then paste it into a reply here, so we can see the entire thing, and
see if perhaps you have a typo.

Re: windows mail
There is a sentence or two missing from the beginning of that
error message.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
