Windows Mail co-exist with Outlook (not OE) on Vista?
I use Outlook, (not Outlook Express) and am gearing up to send a work-related
HTML newsletter from my personal PC. It looks like I need to do this through
Windows Mail. My question: after I configure the ingoing and outgoing mail
servers for Windows Mail, will this disable my Outlook functionability? In
other words, I'd like to know before I go any further whether or not I can
use both Windows Mail and Outlook on my PC (using Vista, Home Premium). I
want to keep all my personal emailing intact in Outlook, and only use Windows
Mail to send the work-related newsletter.

If I'm wrong about needing to use Windows Mail for the HTML send, let me
know. When I tried to import the template from the designer while using
regular Outlook, I couldn't find the option for Source Edit, and after some
research came to the assumption that I'd need Windows Mail.

Thanks in advance!

HI!
You can use Microsoft Outlook and Windows Mail.
I thing you don't try to import the template from the designer.
Windows Mail is the Outlook Express but new version to windows vista
Microsoft Outlook is better that Windows Mail. it does not mix the two
programs. you can use separately, it is very better.

Re: Windows Mail co-exist with Outlook (not OE) on Vista?
thank you, Alvaro. Do I understand correctly: I can configure ingoing and
outgoing servers for Windows Mail and it will not disrupt the settings or the
functionality for Outlook?

What did you mean by "don't import the template from the designer?"

Thank you!

Re: Windows Mail co-exist with Outlook (not OE) on Vista?
If you are using the same mail account then you would need to leave a copy
on the server in order to have mail available in both. If however your
newsletter is on a different account then no problem.
As far as I'm aware Outlook can deal with HTML mail, I certainly receive
some mail in this format, allthough I dont send HTML

Re: Windows Mail co-exist with Outlook (not OE) on Vista?
thanks, DL. yes, I receive HTML through Outlook as well. the problem came
when I attempted to Edit Source in order to load in new content over the
designer's HTML template in Outlook. she kept instructing me to find Edit
Source and when I dug around I found that it was not a function of Outlook,
though it is in Outlook Express/Windows Mail.

I will be using a work email account to send the email, so by your info it
sounds like there won't be an issue. I wasn't sure if my PC would get
confused with two ingoing/outgoing set-ups. I'm kind of new at this...
Thanks!

Correct, Outlook does a very nice job sending HTML email.

Yes.
However, unless you change the advanced settings for the account WinMail
will delete the POP3 account messages from the server when it downloads
them.

Several of us have multiple email programs. They don't interfere
with each other.
