Folders disappeard (sent, deleted, drafts, etc...)
Hi,
I've just noticed that the following folders have disappeared: sent,
deleted, drafts & outbox.
Any ideas on how I can make them display?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

RE: Folders disappeard (sent, deleted, drafts, etc...)
Yes, this happened to me a couple of weeks ago and the guys on this site had
no idea what was up. What I did was click on local folders and then double
click on each folder from there to make them re appear. A bit of a bind every
time you opened Windows Mail. However for no reason at all it fixed itself on
it's own after a week and I am assured there were no up dates to fix it, so
it remains a bit of a mystery. At the moment as far as I am concerned all is
well. The method I described above will sort you out for now until Guy an the
others can come with a solution.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Re: Folders disappeard (sent, deleted, drafts, etc...)
When I right click on a folder and then properties the folder has messages
but I cannot see them. The view is set to show all but it doesn't matter
which view I select

Re: Folders disappeard (sent, deleted, drafts, etc...)
And I repeat myself, which antivirus are you running?
Some of them are not compatible with Windows Mail.

Re: Folders disappeard (sent, deleted, drafts, etc...)
Sorry Gary, I am running Kaspersky anti-virus.
I tried turning it off and then trying again with the same result.
I was not able to send or recieve.
Error on socket 110 (unfortunately I don't have the rest of the error report).
However, this morning when I turned windows mail on I recieved two emails,
seems like something's changed?
I normally like to have my folders displayed in the left column and the
corresponding headers/emails showing on the right.
This morning only "local folders" appeared in the left column & all other
folders in the main area on the right.
As I double clicked on each individual folder it appeared in the left column
with the corresponding headers/emails on the right,
similar to other problems on this thread.
I can always log on to my ISP's webmail page but, I prefer using windows
mail as I like to have my emails stored on my computer and not someone elses
server.
That's why I'm perservering with this problem.

Re: Folders disappeard (sent, deleted, drafts, etc...)
I should add that at times when I couldn't post, recieve or see my emails,
occasionally there was a message that there is more than one identity.
I only have the one identity and if I tried deleting others I was told "all
other identities have ben deleted or moved.

Re: Folders disappeard (sent, deleted, drafts, etc...)
Turning your antivirus "off" seldom removes all of its bad effects.
If you want your Windows Mail to work correctly, do a trial uninstall of
Kaspersky. If no improvement, you can always reinstall it.
Another option is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail, which is less
prone to corruption from antivirus programs. For any antivirus,
email scanning must be disabled.

Re: Folders disappeard (sent, deleted, drafts, etc...)
Is there a triangle or a plus sign in a box to the left of the folder or to
the
left of Local Folders? If so, click on it and see what happens. If
anything
disappears, click on it again to bring it back.
