Auto delete junk mail not working

My auto delete for the junk mail does not appear to be working.
I have checked the box in junk mail options but it still puts the spam into
the folder instead of deleting it.
Anyone able to help me please?

i think that is what was intended, as the filters will often not be able to
tell the wheat from the chaff.

Windows Mail gives you several options for dealing with junk mail and one of
them is to delete it rather than put it in the junk mail folder.
It has been working OK but has stopped for some reason.

Just to kill this off i have found the problem and it is solved.
I had set up a message rule to move spam to the junk mail folder and this
was bypassing the auto delete.
By deleting the message rule the problem is solved .
