Vista Mail to Outlook 2003

I am using Windows mail and don't like the way it works, especially the
autocomplete feature in the address bar. Can I move all my settings,
email, etc. to Outlook 2003 and if so how? I am only doing this to
hopefully access the auto complete feature that I expect is available in
Outlook like it was in Outlook Express.
Thank you.
Don

Honestly I am lost by the need for AC of addresses.

Open a new mail>click on the word To: next to the address line, it brings up
your contacts. select recipients from there.

Much easier than transferring to an old Office program.

IMHO.

Why not try Windows Live Mail first, to see if it will meet your
needs. It will automatically import all your WM emails, settings,
accounts, folders, rules, etc.

Re: Vista Mail to Outlook 2003

I got so used to to the auto complete feature that it is a major
inconvenience to go to the To: and have to click on my addressees.
I have heard and read on this forum and others that there are many
problems with Windows Live Mail. Maybe this was Microsoft's way of
forcing this issue. Do I keep my old email address or is it now a
hotmail account?

You can keep your old email address, and decide whether you want
to add a hotmail address.

I've seen fewer problems with WLM reported than for WM, if you
look in their respective newsgroups:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail

Re: Vista Mail to Outlook 2003
Autocomplete works much better in Windows Live Mail than
in Windows Mail.

You can use any address in WLM; Hotmail accounts are optional
(not required).
