Outbox message stuck

Have you run the Norton cleanup program?

Sometimes you even have to remove your email account under
Windows Mail, then create it again.

i have an adddress stuck in the outbox for a message that was delivered, but
i cannot cancel the address, even with the microsoft update, which seems to
assume there is a full message there. can you help please?

If there is a stuck message in the Outbox folder, open the Outbox folder
and try to move or delete that message. If it won't move or can't be deleted,
apply this Microsoft fix:

I have installed the free avast download; kb 941090 download 'does not
apply' mind you I am using IE 8 Beta 2 on Vista Home premium 32bit. I am
unable now to move a deleted file, back to my Inbox

Uninstall Avast and try again.
When you reinstall Avast, select 'custom' install, which then allows
you to unselect installing its troublesome email scanning module.

If no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

I don't have enough experience with WinMail to know for sure but in Outlook
Express if your Sent Items folder becomes too full and you have OE set to
save copies of sent items then the sent email will not move to the sent
items folder and will instead get sent repeatedly until deleted or the Sent
Items folder is cleared out.

How full is too full? Good question but no answer here. Create an archive
folder and use it to store old sent items.
