smtp authentication must be set wrong
message can not be sent. the authentication setting might not be correct for
your computer. I can send all my emails except to one person, who also uses
comcast as the server. I've called comcast before and they deny they are the
problem even though my settings are spot on with what comcast wants.

Make sure that you do not have a typing error in that particular email
address?

how do you resent the authentication setting on your computer?

Re: smtp authentication must be set wrong
Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, Properties, Servers,
"My server requires authentication."
If you need more help, post your complete error message.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee,Trend and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail
and Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of
Trend's anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

Re: smtp authentication must be set wrong
You do not have the correct name for the outgoing (SMTP) server.
Change Charter.net to smtp.charter.net.
The complete setup instructions are here:
