You might want to check here and decide if that's something you want
to run at all:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb776867.aspx
<http://www.codeplex.com/Contacts/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=14898>
<http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/07/01/PreviewHandlers/default.aspx>
For problems with contacts, this sometimes helps: In Windows Mail,
click on Tools, then Windows Contacts. Right click in the empty
space on the right side of the contacts window, then click on
Customize This Folder. Click on the triangle, then Contacts, then
Apply, then OK, then the X at the top right corner of the contacts
window.

Re: prevhost.exe has stopped working
Robert,
Thank you for the reply. The 3 links you provided me with were a "little"
over my experience level. I did try your last suggestion, but that did not
clear it up. I know that I'm not the only one dealing with this (if that is
any comfort) and rumor has it that MS is supose come up with a service pack
in the first quarter of the month. I know that there are a lot of us waiting
eagerly! If the service pack doesn't doesn't clean up most of the issues I've
experienced with Vista, I'll reformat and make this a XP computer.
Thanks Again,
CB

Re: prevhost.exe has stopped working
I have tested (and am running) the final version of SP1 for Vista,
and I can tell you that it does nothing for Windows Mail.
I suggest you give Windows Live Mail a try:

Re: prevhost.exe has stopped working
I have the same problem but has nothing to do with win mail. I have vista
home premium on a dell xps420. I get the message when trying to open an
internet file with only pics in it. When I went to link you provided it
mentioned .Net Framework and I remember when I was setting up this computer,
in Dec, that there was a problem with .Net Framework. Could .Net Framework
have anything to do with it?

Re: prevhost.exe has stopped working
I haven't tried using the .Net Framework, so I wouldn't know. These
newsgroups look likely to provide a better answer, though:
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework
microsoft.public.dotnet.general
