Windows Mail / Live Mail acess to server problem.
Hi, since upgrading tp Vista, Both windows Mail and Live mail do not always
donnload messages from my pop 3 accounts. I have to open my accounts online
and when I have opened the accounts both mail and live mail will then down
load messages, This does not happen all of the time, so I know the account
settings are correct. It is just annoying that I have to check online every
day rather than just checking mail or live mail. This never happened with XP
running Outlook Express.
is this a problem with Vista, or my mail servers.
any ideas how to sort this out.
many thanks
Derek

Re: Windows Mail / Live Mail acess to server problem.
It's not a Vista problem, or else it would be more widespread.
Do you have both email programs configured to leave a copy of
email messages on the server?

Re: Windows Mail / Live Mail acess to server problem.
Hi, Thanks for the reply, Yes messages are set to be left on server for 5
days. It is just strange that since upgrading this has started. It was fine
before.
Also I do not use both email I only tried the other to see if that was the
same fault.

Re: Windows Mail / Live Mail acess to server problem.
This is a very strange problem that I have not seen before.
Without the benefit of an error message it is very difficult to
figure out what is going on.

Re: Windows Mail / Live Mail acess to server problem.
I would like to say I am having the same problem and did not have it with xp.
Also messages do not show attachments and i have checked all the settings.
I have to go online to my server to see them.

Re: Windows Mail / Live Mail acess to server problem.
Do you have attachments enabled?
Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."
and uncheck "Block images..."
What happens when you send an email with an attachment to yourself?
Which antivirus are you running?
