incoming mail come in twice
I just recently started using windows mail. It was fine till a day ago and
it asked me for my id and password. when I put the info in it doubled my
mail. Everything I get now comes twice. I thought it was a Vista securiity
thing or something. Need help to fix it.

Hi Tikkitoes,

Double check to see if you have a duplicate email account setup. If you
do, then just delete the duplicate. (Tools, Accounts)

Re: incoming mail come in twice
Thanks...I did have one set up for hubby that was the same except adding a
number and using the same password. I deleted it and now everything seem to
be working. Now I am wondering how I can set his mail up again without having
the same problem.
Thanks for the help.

Re: incoming mail come in twice
Are you sure you have a fully separate account for him on the email server,
instead of just an alias account? If it's fully separate, create a separate
Vista user account for him, and set up his email account under Windows
Mail in that account. If it's an alias account, you really have just two
separate email addresses going to one email server account, and
whichever of you checks for mail first after it reaches the server will
get it. You may want to adjust your setup so you will both get copies,
even if you have separate Vista user accounts. To do this, click on
Tools, then Accounts, then your email account, then Properties, then
Advanced. If there is no check mark in the box before Leave a copy
of messages on server, click on this box, then Apply. You should
also select one of the methods of eventually deleting the messages from
the server, then click Apply again. Click on OK, then Close. Do this
in the other user's Vista account as well.

tikkitoes,

You could setup another user account for him in Vista, and have the
email address in that account's Windows Mail. Just be sure to set the
account settings set to "Leave a copy of messages on the server" so you
will still receive them as well. (Tools, Accounts, select email account,
Properties, Advanced tab)

OR

He will need to have a completely different email address.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
