Problems Sending Mail
I have a POP3 mail account and I recieve mail fine but cannot send.
I get the following message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: Trip to Canada',
Account: 'Omni', Server: 'smtp.omnioiltech.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
Can you please help.

omnioiltech.com appears to be an oil company, not an internet provider.
You might ask if they are up to date enough on the software updates for
their mail server to include the update released several months ago to
make the server software work better for Vista users.

Also, note that many internet providers block connections to port 25
for any email servers except their own, to cause trouble for spammers.
In this case, you should ask if that server listens for outgoing mail on
any port other than port 25, and if so, how to switch to the other
port.

You could also switch to using your internet provider's outgoing
mail server, even if you keep on using the same incoming email
server and the same return address.

They are up to date on their software, I usually go to a third party to
access my email. webmail.omnioiltech.com
Do I have to check with my ISP on what ports to use?
How do I switch to using my internet provider's outgoing mail server?

Webmail uses a different port, so it wouldn't be affected.

Most email servers use ports 25 and 110, and therefore do not
need to tell you what ports to use since they're the default ports
in Windows Mail.

To switch to your internet provider's outgoing mail server, get
their instructions for setting up to use their email servers. If they
haven't written instructions for Windows Mail yet, use their
instructions for Outlook Express but under Windows Mail
instead. The instructions are probably somewhere on their
web site. Or, if they write such instructions in English, you
could tell us who your internet provider is and see if anyone
here already knows where to find the instructions. When you
get the instructions, though, use only the parts for the outgoing
server to make changes to your current email account, instead
of creating a whole new account.

Found the instructions
All i did was switch the SMTP to shawmail and it worked
