Windows Address Book.
I have a few problems with my wab and contacts and would like to understand
them better; hence a few questions. Are the contacts I see in WinMail the
same as those in Outlook? Outlook gives me an error message that it "cannot
find the wab dll". What does that mean and how do I correct it? I want to
export my XP address book so I can import it into VISTA, but the export
function is disabled (greyed) inXP Outlook Express. Is there a
fix/work-around for this? Essentially, I just want to get my XP address book
into Vista WinMail - is there a way to do this?
TIA Bill

Then why cannot I see them in Outlook? On opening, it gives an error message
Unable to find the WAB DLL. This message is repeated when I try to add a
contact. The contact file is empty even though contacts appear in the WinMail
contact file

What do I import when I cannot export?

Actually, it has been a source of many complaints that WinMail
and Outlook cannot share a common set of contacts.
Very poor planning on Microsoft's part.

RE: Windows Address Book.
Bill, did you ever get your address book installed into Vista and are you
still getting the popup that reads unable to find the WAB DLL? If you have
the answer to down loading the address book please reply, or if anyone has
the answer let me know.

Re: Windows Address Book.
Try this. It worked for me.

Copy the following files:

wab32.dll
wab32res.dll

From:
\Program Files\Common Files\System

To:
\Windows\System32

I hope that helps you as well.
