no incoming mail (again)
The problem was solved momentarilly. I unchecked phishing. Mail came in.
Second try, same POP3 error. Phishing remains unchecked. When I click send/recieve progress box comes up,says recieving, no arrow movement, 1 minute later error comes up.
Nancy (very frustrated)

Windows Mail users find it hard to go back to your previous messages,
to fill in for what is missing from this one.

Re: no incoming mail (again)
I have the same questions as before.
What happens when you click on Receive All? Any error message?
If so, right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it into a
reply here.
Note: It is customary here when continuing an issue, to 'reply'
in the existing thread. This ensures that the history of the issue
is preserved and available for us troubleshooters.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'NANCY', Server: 'incoming.verizon.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
Sorry about the customary response.
This error message showed up after about 5 min.
No activity with inbox arrow.

Re: no incoming mail (again)
Your settings look fine. The problem may be caused by your
antivirus. Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
and Norton security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled.
After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like:
AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.

The anti-virus is Trend Micro Anti Virus. Ink
The laptop was purchased at Best Buy. They took out what was not needed and put in (at my cost) their own anti- virus that they recomended.
I told them I had AVG and was perfectly satisfied with it.
Do you think Trend Micro might be the problem?
If so I will uninstall it and install AVG.
Thanks,
Nancy

A recent version of the Trend antivirus program (details not
available) is known to cause assorted problems in Windows
Mail.
If you install AVG, use the custom install and tell it to leave out
the part that scans email.

You may also need to remove your email account under Windows
