You MUST install Outlook on the Vista machine! When its installed and
working, transfer your Outlook .pst file to the Vista machine and connect
Outlook to it:

To move a Personal Folders .pst file
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx
Reconnect your old Outlook data file
From there, open Windows Mail and go to 'File|Import|Messages|Microsoft
Exchange (or Microsoft Outlook)' to transfer messages. For contacts, Open
Outlook and go to 'File|Import and
Export|Export to a file|Comma Separated Values'. Once finished, open
Windows Mail and go to 'File|Import other Address Book|Text File (Comma
Separated Values)'.
Again, you MUST install Outlook on the Vista machine or you'll continue to
get the "cannot import from MAPI client" error. Outlook is the "MAPI
client" and you cannot import from something that isn't there...
