windows mail freezes

Every so often, my windows mail will freeze. sometimes this also happens in
a dialog box from another program. Does anyone know what the problem is? Is
it Vista, Is it IE7, add ons, any help would be appreciated. New to Vista.
Less than a week.

It's probably a third party security program. Some of the prime offenders
are McAfee, Norton, Trend and Zone Alarm.
