no incoming mail

I have a new laptop. (2 weeks). With vista
I hooked up to Verizon.
I can send but not recieve mail. I'm on windows mail.
I can get my mail through webmail.
I looked into this and there seems to be an issue between vista and POP3.
2 unrelated sources said they encountered this (seperately).
Each told me that a very minor correction in the e-mail config corrected this.
Neither can remember what the correction was.
Can anyone help before I shoot the laptop?

What happens when you click on Receive All? Any error message?
Does it go through the motions of contacting the server?

I had the same problem!
Mine was a tick in a box that should not have been there!


In Windows mail:-
open TOOLS, junk E-mail options, Phishing.

If the box "Protect my inbox from messages with potential phishing links" is
checked uncheck it.
I did and problem solved.
