windows mail doesnt automatically check for new mail

I have my windows mail configured to check for new mail when I get into the
program, but it doesnt do it. I have to do send/receive.

Any suggestions?

You might try removing your mail account, closing and reopening WinMail and
then adding it back again. Don't set the interval below 5 minutes to test.
