Removing recipients

Vista Home Basic , included WinMail.exe

While trying to set up WinMail, and teaching somebody to use it, I
ended up with many unwanted recipients when autocompleting the recipient
field.

So I type in "r" and get ronaldo@this, Ron@that, Ralph@somewherelse
etc. None of them is real or wanted.

I cannot find these anywhere else, so that I can remove them. Are they
stored somewhere. They are not in the contacts list.

Thanks for any help

Nick

The autocompletion list is part of the registry and very hard to edit.
However, it holds only the last 29 addresses you sent messages to,
so all you have to do to remove addresses you don't want on the
list is to send mail to 29 addresses you do want on the list.

Re: Removing recipients
They are stored in the Registry, in binary.
Here's how to delete them...

BTW, Windows Mail does a poor job with auto-completion. The newer Windows
Live Mail is much better.

Hah! The person I am teaching is my Old Man. At his rate 29 entries
could take...well... forever <G>

However, I will keep that in mind.

I am not averse to mucking about in registries. However I have not met
Vista's yet. I see there is a post with a method.

Thanks for your help
