My Windows Mails is sending an email twice?

Good Evening All,

When I send and email it sends it ok, then I look in the 'sent items' folder
and there is my email 'twice', (sent at the same time) does this mean my
system is sending it twice or is it backing it up (for whatever reason!),
any advise/solutions would be gratefully received.

Note: when I looked in my AOL email folder it was only sent once!

I am also an aol user and am experiencing exactly the same problem. I t
appears no one has yet offered a solution . Please post of you do resolve this

Hi John,

Check to see if you have a duplicate email account setup in Windows
Mail. If you do, just delete the duplicate. Click on Tools, then
Accounts on the toolbar in the main window of Windows Mail.

My father had the same issue. He did not have two instances of his AOL
account set up. Here's how I solved it:
-Go to Tools > Options... in Windows Mail and choose the Send tab.
-Turn off the Save copy of sent messages in the 'Sent Items' folder
(the first check box).

It appears that AOL automatically saves a copy of all sent mail and
that Windows Mail downloads that copy along with the one Windows Mails
saves automatically. I turned off the automatic save, and the problem
was solved.
