Sending requires User Name and Password
This is my second laptop to use Vista Windows Mail.

But this new one won't send messages unless I enter my Vista User Name &
password.

It must be security setting?

Please let me know what I need to do.

Thank for your help!

Re: Sending requires User Name and Password
you need to set up your mail service according to the requirements of your isp.
it is normal to require a user name and password to send mail.

Click on Tools, then Accounts. then your email account, then Properties,
then Servers. Under Incoming Mail Server, make sure your username
is entered correctly, and a string of dots represents your password. If
there's no check mark in the box before Remember Password, click on
this box and then Apply. Click on OK and then Close.

RE: Sending requires User Name and Password
Ok, I really hate to admit what I did, but it all works fine.
I had removed the password from my Vista sign on screen, and the Vista
security area showed no password. But I had not restarted! As a last resort I
did restart and of course, that fixed it. No more email verification required.
Thanks y'all, for being willing to help!!
